There are many different kinds of smokers.  You have public smokers, drinking smokers (those who smoke only when they drink), heavy smokers, secret smokers, and so on.  Maybe you know some people who fall into one or some of these categories, and maybe you fall into one of them yourself.

Whatever kind of smoker you are, you have one thing in common with all the other kinds of smokers – you have an addiction to nicotine.  You also most likely have a habit of smoking (by this I mean the habit of holding a cigarette and puffing away, or smoking whenever you get in your car, etc.).  So you have both a habit and an addiction.
